Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa. Yum Yum. Just the sound of hot cocoa on a cold winter day makes your heart sing, no? I don’t crave hot cocoa often, but when I do, I want it creamy and thick and with a very satisfying lingering taste.
Me and my little one love marshmallows. Every day after dinner, he gets one as a treat.., only if he finishes up his dinner. We like our marshmallows in ice-creams, cookies, and brownies. And we especially love marshmallows in the hot cocoa.
So far, I have been making hot cocoa with the Ghirardelli hot cocoa mix. And it’s supreme yum. But for those late night cravings when you don’t have any hot cocoa mix handy, you can always walk to the pantry, grab the Nutella jar and mix yourself up this yummy Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa.
If you want your Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa skinny or low-fat, then use skimmed milk. If you want Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa dairy free, then go for almond milk. There won’t be much difference in taste if you go for skimmed milk or almond milk. It will still make you happy.
Since I like mine super creamy and rich; I used ¼ cup of cream with ¾ cups of regular milk to give that special wintery feeling.
This Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa will make you cozy and comfortable on a crisp winter day or on a long chilly winter evening. Just light up that fireplace, make yourself this steamy cup of Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa and curl up with a book. For me, that’s the best way to spend a long and cold winter night.
As you sip on, the creamy marshmallows would turn to a thick frothy cream, making this Nutella-Marshmallow Hot Cocoa, extra delicious. Savor each sip. Add your favorite nuts for some crunchiness. I skipped it because I like mine as-is: Frothy. Warm. Cozy. Creamy
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 and ½ cups Regular milk
- 1/2 cup full cream (If you want low-fat, then just use regular milk)
- 1 TBSP cocoa
- 3 TBSP Nutella
- 1 TBSP Nutella mixed with 2 TBSP milk
- 4 TBSP sugar or sweetener
- Marshmallows
METHOD:
- Microwave milk in microwave safe cups or, alternatively, heat milk in a saucepan. The milk should be piping hot
- Add Nutella, cocoa powder, and sugar, and mix until dissolved and combined.
- Serve with your marshmallows and some melted Nutella on top
